Get ready folks! If you think Austin is overcrowded now just wait. According to a local Commercial Real Estate Firm, JLL and their ‘City Momentum Indicator Report’ Austin ranks 19th in the world as fastest growing cities. The only other city in the US to make the top 20 was the San Francisco, Bay area. Of course, this is a double edge sword. While growth is good it also brings problems. The city will have to battle the environmental impacts, transportation congestion and increased inequality/affordable housing issues that will only get worse. Hopefully our city managers are on top of these concerns and will come up with a sensible solution to combat the issues. In the meantime, you may want to consider buying some rental property if you’re in the market.
